At DVM Detective, Dr. Karen Gellman provides “second opinion” advice for veterinary holistic care. Please note that due to the regulations of State New York Board of Veterinary Medicine and to achieve proper care for your animal companion, I cannot diagnose or treat via email, phone, video, or social media. However, I will do our best to share my knowledge and experience from extensive training and many years in clinical practice as a holistic vet to provide advice based on interpreting your pet’s medical records and history. This is not a primary care or emergency veterinary care service.
Please communicate with your primary or local veterinarian before attempting to treat your pet with natural or holistic treatments. Veterinary diagnosis is part of the natural and holistic treatment process. I do not perform any form of diagnosis. Diagnostics can be performed by your primary or local veterinarian. I can work closely with your current or preferred veterinarian. Holistic and natural health remedies help pets and owners with simple treatments that work along with traditional veterinary health care and treatments. We recommend using natural and holistic remedies as a complimentary option to traditional veterinary care. All urgent matters should be addressed with your primary or local veterinary hospital. You are welcome to email me any concerns but, please be aware that my responses do not take the place of an in-person veterinary visit.
My services are not covered by all insurance companies and I do not submit any forms to insurance. If you want to submit your invoice(s) to insurance, you are free to do so.
